Unicorns superficially resemble horses, save for the fact that they have the legs of a stag, the tail of a lion, and a spiral horn growing from their brow. Their eyes are often blue or silver.

Unicorns are the wildest of all forest creatures, defending their territory aggressively from any humanoid invaders save elves, fey, and virgins. The presence of a virgin will calm and lull even the wildest of unicorns, and a strand of hair from a virgin will allow one to tame the best.
The horn of a unicorn has many properties, , most notably its ability to neutralize any toxin or heal injuries at a touch, and the powdered horn of a unicorn is an ingredient in the most powerful of healing potions. However, removing the horn almost always kills the unicorn in question, and is likely to incur the wrath of all other forest inhabitants.
